Who We Are
In 2017, a group of engineers, mechanics, and software developers left their jobs at some of the largest automotive and energy companies in Europe. Not laid off. Not bought out. They walked out because they'd seen enough.
They'd seen cars engineered to fail at the three-year mark. Telematics systems designed to harvest and sell driver behaviour to insurance brokers. Showrooms built to extract maximum margin from buyers who didn't know any better. Boardrooms where "sustainability" was a marketing category, not a commitment.
Resistance Motors was incorporated in Manchester in 2017. We are a worker-owned cooperative. Fifteen percent of the company is owned directly by the people who build it. We publish our cost breakdowns. We open-source our repair manuals. We do not sell your data. We do not use dealerships. We are not interested in your loyalty programme. We are interested in building the best electric vehicles that money can honestly buy.

The Resistance Motors Formula GP team exists for one reason: stress testing. The track is the most demanding environment an electric powertrain can endure. Every lap is data. Every race is a proof of concept.
When the Shockwave does 0–60 in 2.9 seconds, that isn't a marketing claim we dreamed up. That's what happens when you take a race-hardened drivetrain and put it in a road car. The team colours are black and acid lime. Same as everything we make.

Your driving data belongs to you. We do not collect behavioural telemetry for sale or licensing. Full stop.
All service documentation is public. Any qualified mechanic can work on our vehicles. We publish diagnostic protocols.
We publish our cost breakdowns. You can see what the battery costs, what labour costs, what our margin is.
Order direct. We deliver direct. No showroom pressure, no finance steering, no dealer markup.
Fifteen percent of Resistance Motors is owned by the people who work here, via a formal staff cooperative structure.
We will never engineer a failure point to accelerate a replacement cycle. Our vehicles are designed for a decade of hard use.
